HGA Grades Bowman Cards

Bowman, founded by Jacob Warren Bowman, began its journey as Gum, Inc. in 1927, achieving success with Blony bubble gum by 1929. In 1937, Blony dominated 60 percent of the U.S. bubble gum market with its sizable pieces and catchy “Three Big BITES for a penny” campaign. The company, a major player in the penny gum trade, also introduced innovative color trading cards like the 1938 “Horrors of War” series.
Entering the trading card scene in the early 1930s, Bowman initially focused on non-sports topics. In 1939, it ventured into sports with baseball cards, continuing with the annual “Play Ball” sets until 1941. Wartime paper rations briefly halted card production until Bowman returned in 1948.
The 1948 Bowman baseball card set gained popularity, marking the company’s resurgence. Bowman diversified into football and basketball card sets the same year. Competing with Leaf Candy Company, Bowman briefly led baseball card sales until Topps Chewing Gum emerged as the dominant force.
In 1956, Topps acquired Bowman for $200,000, concluding Bowman’s independent era. In 1989, Topps revived the Bowman brand for subsidiary sports card sets, solidifying Bowman’s legacy as the premier brand for rookie cards in recent years.

Importance of Grading Topps Cards
Graded cards often have a higher resale value and are more sought after by serious collectors to display, invest, and sell. It doesn’t matter if it is for personal collection or you are selling your cards, the first step to upgrading your collection is to get it graded.

Importance of Grading Bowman Cards

Grading is an important part to any collector who wants to preserve, protect, and authenticate their collection. Grading your cards gives you assurance and piece of mind of the following points.

Condition Determination

A card’s grade can significantly influence its market value. A mint condition card can fetch prices exponentially higher than its worn counterparts.

Grading ensures the card’s authenticity, protecting collectors from counterfeit cards. As well as being labeled with the detailed information about the cards set, release and variation.

Once graded, cards are sealed in a tamper-resistant, protective case, preserving their condition. Allowing you to display and show off your cards without fear of damage or wear.

Our Unique Label Designs Enhance Your Cards

HGA’s custom labels enhance graded Bowman cards by offering a personalized and visually striking touch that complements the design aesthetics of Bowman’s trading cards.
