HGA Grades Vampire The Eternal Struggle Cards
Vampire: The Eternal Struggle, originally named Jyhad and designed by Richard Garfield, is a collectible card game (CCG) introduced by Wizards of the Coast in 1994. As Garfield’s follow-up to Magic: The Gathering, it showcased the versatility of CCGs. The initial release included 438 cards distributed in 76-card starter decks and 19-card booster packs. In 1995, the game underwent a name change to Vampire: The Eternal Struggle, distancing itself from the term “jihad.”
White Wolf published The Eternal Struggle: A Strategy Guide to the Jyhad in 1995, and Wizards released Darkness Unveiled in August 1996. After the Sabbat expansion in 1996, Wizards discontinued the game’s development, with White Wolf taking over in 2000. The game faced discontinuation in 2010 by White Wolf but saw a revival in 2018 when Black Chantry Productions acquired the license to bring it back into production. This fan-run organization released expansions as free PDFs and introduced new sets of physical cards. Garfield’s design choices for Vampire: The Eternal Struggle were influenced by his experiences with Magic, incorporating dedicated multi-player rules, the absence of “land cards,” and a quicker card-drawing mechanism.
Graded cards often have a higher resale value and are more sought after by serious collectors to display, invest, and sell. It doesn’t matter if it is for personal collection or you are selling your cards, the first step to upgrading your collection is to get it graded.
